Advantages

Kick-Drive Mechanisms
The patented CTL Kick-Drive mechanism can be adapted for numerous applications where motors are required to drive inertial mechanisms.
Most mechanisms or systems require higher level of energy at the start of the actuation in order to overcome the static inertia of the system. Motors are normally selected to meet the start-up conditions although for the majority of applications, they operate at a much lower level of energy. This design approach inevitably leads to inefficient systems.
The CTL Kick-Drive uses stored dynamic energy to meet the start-up conditions which results in a considerably more efficient design. An additional advantage of the CTL Kick-Drive is allowing the use of significantly smaller motor to replace a much larger and higher-rated one.
These benefits impact on the complete system by enabling the reduction in rating of many associated components such as wiring, switches and connectors.
The applications of the CTL Kick-Drive are numerous and extend from safety critical, high speed actuators through to starter motors and portable electric hammers.
Starter Motor
The integration of the CTL Kick-Drive mechanism in conventional starter motors leads to substantially more efficient design. In most cases the CTL Starter Motors replace existing ones with a fraction of the weight and power consumption. This not only improves the cost effectiveness of such devices but also assists many industries meet the increasingly stringent environmental directives.
Starter motors, power generators for automotive, aerospace, marine and other industrial applications can all benefit from integrating the CTL Kick-Drive mechanism.
Window Regulator
The CTL window regulator design is non-handed and one of the smallest currently available due to the integratation of the Kick-Drive mechanism.
Passive keyless Entry "PKE"
Unlike many other keyless entry systems, the CTL design has unique features which enable it to be integrated with minimum or no design change to the vehicle. The CTL PKE system has been fully developed in conjunction with the CTL Universal Latch and communicates directly with control electronics embedded within the latch.
The CTL PKE system not only makes it possible to retrofit such systems into any motor vehicle but also does it at a fraction of the cost and time.
